A Postpartum Depression Love Letter in Photos to My Feisty, Old-Soul Daughter on Her First Birthday

This year has been too real to stop at “I love you to the moon and back,” so here’s a postpartum depression love letter in photos to my feisty, old-soul daughter on her first birthday.

Her birthday is a celebration that we’ve done it, we’ve made it, we’re here. Soon the toughest times won’t sting like they do now, and the beautiful photos I’ve taken over the year will remain bright and tender.

These photos, here, I’ll keep just for me.

  1. Exquisite. Thank you. It’s all true for me, too!

  2. I love the sentiment expressed. And by the way, I know it’s not about this, but I LOVE the photo from between her legs framing the other kids!

  3. Beautiful pictures.

  4. Beautiful 💓 motherhood is full of challenges. One day your child will grow to be your best friend. My toddler was having a meltdown in the supermarket the other day and a woman said that to me. It put everything in perspective. I will laugh at these challenges with my daughter one day ☺

  5. Really beautiful post.

I definitely look back on my son’s baby pictures with fondness now, compared to how I felt at the time.

  6. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Beautiful and oh so relatable. I love this post!
